As many of you know, I am still somewhat of a freshly wed woman. On Sunday afternoon, I used my high-voltage wifely wiles (still fine-tuning these) to persuade Travis to not go to the Super Bowl party, but instead to go for an improptu “Coffee Slash Looking at Exorbitant Houses” run. While Travis is not much for spur of the moment “fun,” he graciously went along for the ride.

As it turns out, our caffeine-sponsored drive turned into one of the best afternoons we’ve spent together. We discovered houses with spires (definitely a new must-have for our future home), gold-plated interior trim, and spiral staircases (All just a friendly two-minute drive from Wendy’s). We laughed a lot, explored, ate burgers, and found a $20 in the middle of nowhere (THANKS, universe). I learned about the aggressive hugging man-cat (watch out), and found out that Ursula sells houses. Most of all, we had the day to ourselves, and it was lovely.

Being married is definitely an interesting, growing experience- but it’s days like Sunday that make me realize how great everything is when people listen to me.

Also, how great it is to be married.
